From the Washington Post:
Ill. lawmaker to offer prescription link
An Illinois lawmaker says Gov. Rod Blagojevich is not doing enough to help consumers get cheaper prescription drugs from Canadian mail-order pharmacies.

The governor says he will not risk breaking federal law, but state Rep. Jack Franks says three Canadian pharmacies he plans to link to on his Internet site have been visited by Wisconsin and Minnesota's health departments and pharmacy boards.

From the Rocky Mount Telegram (NC):
Lawmakers Grill Thompson on Canada Drugs
Lawmakers grilled Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson Thursday about his opposition to importing prescription drugs from Canada, an issue showing no signs of fading this election year.

Pointed questions from Democrats and Republicans focused on Thompson's decision to appoint Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Mark McClellan to lead a study of drug importation.
